V&A - Photography- Making it up

At the V&A there were many spaces that held collections of different types of art. We decided to go to the photography 'making it up' area which held many interesting photographs - most were staged images which were created in order to produce different reactions and to make connections to the audience.

These two images came from the same series (along with another four photos) which looked at the relationship between the mother and child and how close there relationship was.

Julia Margaret Cameron (From idylls of the King - 1874)

This was one of the photographs in this space that captured my attention. The tone of the photo is so soft and sensitive because of the lack of colour and the sepia tones that generate a warm feeling. However personally the relationship among these two people appear sad as well as romantic. They seem to be sharing a memory - still within the photograph.
