Another item I selected from my past was this fossil. It actually is one of many from my old fossil collection. As a child (and even know) I have found fossils so interesting because of the history and the fact they were once living creatures around millions of years ago. This fossil was one of the first from this small collection.
This is the drawing I created from this item. As a fossil is visually very attractive and symmetrical I decided to use a biro to draw the attention to this feature. I like my mark making because the lines are in all different directions - far away this generates an interesting effect. If I could spend more time on this picture I would have tried to add more time on the tone. Furthermore I might have decided to change the composition - instead using a close up of the centre of the fossil. Or maybe trying to link my memories of collecting the fossils to the picture. However overall I think that the fossil appears well as a design because of its unique structure.
